Optický kabel Helos 3 m OM4 LC/ST

The Helos 3m OM4 fibre optic cable LC/ST is a multimode duplex cable with a 50 µm core designed for high-speed data transmission in network and InfiniBand environments. One end terminates in an LC connector and the opposite end splits into two ST connectors, providing compatibility with a range of networking devices and transceivers. With an OM4 grade glass core and a 3 meter jacketed length, the cable is intended to deliver low attenuation and consistent signal quality across short- to medium-range links.

Advantages

This fibre cable supports OM4 multimode performance characteristics, offering higher bandwidth-distance product compared with lower OM grades for applications such as 10G/40G and some 100G links over short distances. The LC to dual-ST termination provides practical mating flexibility for systems that combine LC-equipped transceivers with ST-terminated equipment. The 50 µm core diameter and duplex configuration enable full duplex communication while maintaining standardized multimode modal bandwidth and reduced insertion loss when properly installed.

Suitable for

• Data centre short-reach multi-gigabit connections
• InfiniBand interconnects and high-performance computing links
• Enterprise network equipment with mixed LC and ST ports
• Patch panels and optical distribution frames in rack environments

Key specifications

• Fiber type: Multimode OM4
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Length: 3 m
• Connector 1: LC (single connector)
• Connector 2: Dual ST
• Configuration: Duplex
• Typical use: Short- to medium-range optical links

How to use

Connect the LC end to the LC-compatible transceiver or port and insert the two ST connectors into the corresponding ST sockets on the destination device, ensuring correct orientation and secure seating. Avoid bending the cable beyond the recommended minimum bend radius and keep connectors clean and free of dust before mating; use a fibre cleaning tool if necessary. Route the cable through cable management trays or along rack channels to prevent mechanical strain, and label both ends to simplify future maintenance and troubleshooting.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, use the Helos OM4 cable in environments where multimode OM4 specifications are required, and pair it with compatible OM4-rated transceivers and patching hardware. Maintain connector cleanliness, observe bend-radius limits, and avoid sharp kinks. For links approaching the upper distance limit of OM4 for specific multi-gigabit standards, verify link budget and modal bandwidth with appropriate testing equipment before deployment.
