Optický kabel Helos 20 m OM4 LC/SC

The Helos 20m OM4 LC/SC fibre optic cable is a multimode link designed for high-speed data transmission over short to medium distances. Featuring a 50 µm core diameter and OM4-grade fibre, the cable supports full duplex communication via LC and SC connectors, offering compatibility with a wide range of networking equipment in data centers, server rooms and telecommunication closets.

Advantages

This OM4 cable provides low attenuation and improved modal bandwidth compared with lower-grade multimode fibres, enabling higher data rates and extended reach for short-range applications. The combination of LC and SC terminations ensures simple plug-and-play installation with common transceivers and patch panels. The 20 m length reduces the need for additional patching equipment while maintaining signal integrity for duplex links.

Key specifications

• Fibre type: OM4 multimode
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Connector types: LC connector on one end, SC connector on the other end
• Length: 20 m
• Mode: Multimode, full duplex
• Typical applications: Data center patching, rack-to-rack links, server-to-switch connections

How to use

Install the Helos OM4 LC/SC cable by inserting the LC connector into the LC port and the SC connector into the SC port of the respective devices or patch panels. Ensure both ends are clean before connection to avoid contamination that can degrade performance. Route the cable along cable management trays or within racks without sharp bends; maintain the manufacturer's minimum bend radius to prevent microbending losses. For best results, verify link performance with appropriate light source and power meter or a fibre tester after installation.

Recommendations

When deploying this 20 m OM4 patch cable, use it for multimode short-range links where higher modal bandwidth is required. Keep connectors protected with dust caps when not connected, avoid tight bends and tensile stress, and perform visual and optical cleaning prior to mating connectors to maintain signal quality and reliable operation.
