Optický kabel Helos 10 m OM4 SC/ST

The Helos 10m OM4 fibre optic cable with SC and 2x ST connectors is a 10-metre full duplex multimode link designed for high-speed data transmission. With a 50 µm core diameter and OM4-grade multimode fibre, the cable supports enhanced bandwidth and reduced modal dispersion compared with lower-grade multimode types. The dual-connector configuration (SC on one end and two ST connectors on the other) provides compatibility with a variety of network devices and patch panels while preserving signal integrity over short to medium link lengths up to 10 metres.

Advantages

The OM4 specification delivers higher bandwidth and improved performance for 850 nm signalling, enabling reliable 10 Gigabit and higher-rate connections in data centre and enterprise environments. The full duplex design allows simultaneous bidirectional data flow, and the SC and ST connector types offer robust mechanical performance and broad compatibility with legacy and modern equipment. The 10-metre length provides flexibility for rack-to-rack or equipment-to-patch-panel connections without excess slack.

Suitable for

• Data centre patching and horizontal cabling
• High-speed server-to-switch connections
• Telecommunications rooms and networking closets
• Short-reach multimode links for 10G and 40G applications where OM4 is supported

Key specifications

• Fibre type: Multimode OM4
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Length: 10 metres
• Connector configuration: SC to 2×ST (full duplex)
• Typical application wavelength: 850 nm (optimized)
• Designed for low insertion loss and controlled attenuation over short distances

How to use

Route the cable between the two network termination points, ensuring connectors are clean and undamaged before insertion. Insert the SC connector into the corresponding SC port and each ST connector into their respective ST sockets; secure the ST connectors by twisting or locking as required by the equipment. Avoid sharp bends and kinks in the fibre; maintain the minimum bend radius recommended by the equipment or cable manufacturer. After installation, use a visual inspection or test equipment such as an optical power meter or fibre tester to verify continuity and acceptable loss levels.

Recommendations

Keep end faces protected with dust caps until final connection, perform connector cleaning prior to mating, and store any unused cable length with gentle coils to prevent microbending. Use this OM4 cable for short to medium multimode links where higher bandwidth and lower modal dispersion are required; for long-haul single-mode requirements, consider a single-mode fibre alternative.
