Optický kabel Helos 1 m OS2 ST

The Helos 1m OS2 ST fibre optic cable is a single-mode cable engineered for point-to-point optical links. At 1 metre length and with an OS2 fibre core diameter of 9 µm, this cable is designed to carry high-speed data with low attenuation using ST connectors on both ends for quick, twist-and-pull connection. The cable supports full duplex transmission and is suitable for structured cabling in networking racks and short-distance backbone links inside data centres and telecommunication rooms.

Advantages

The OS2 single-mode construction minimizes modal dispersion and offers low insertion loss over typical single-mode distances, while the 9 µm core ensures compatibility with standard single-mode transceivers. ST connectors provide a reliable bayonet locking mechanism that is simple to operate and widely supported in legacy and existing networking equipment. The short 1 m length reduces excess slack and clutter in rack-mounted environments and helps maintain organized cable runs.

Suitable for

• Short interconnects between switches, patch panels and transceivers in data centres
• Optical patching in telecom and server rooms
• Linking single-mode equipment where ST terminations are required

Key specifications

• Fibre type: OS2 (single-mode)
• Core diameter: 9 µm
• Length: 1 m
• Connector type: ST to ST (both ends)
• Transmission mode: Full duplex
• Typical application: Networking, data centre patching

How to use

Route the Helos 1m OS2 ST cable between the two devices ensuring both ends are clean and free of dust before connecting. Align the ST connector with the device socket, insert and twist to engage the bayonet lock. For full duplex use, connect each fibre end to the corresponding transmit and receive ports on the transceivers or patch panels. Avoid tight bends and secure the cable to prevent strain on connectors or equipment.

Recommendations

Before installation, inspect and, if necessary, clean connector endfaces with appropriate fibre inspection and cleaning tools to maintain low insertion loss. Keep cable bend radius within manufacturer guidelines and avoid excessive tensile loads; for rack deployments use cable management panels or ties to organize 1 m patch cords and minimise stress on connectors.
