Optický kabel Helos 5 m OM3 SC/SC

The Helos 5m OM3 SC/SC fibre optic cable is a multimode patch cable with a 50 µm core diameter designed for full duplex optical links. With a 5 metre length and standardized SC to SC connectors, this cable supports high-speed data transmission in structured cabling, data centers and network closets. The turquoise jacket denotes OM3 specification for easy identification and organization among multiple cabling runs.

Advantages

The OM3 multimode construction provides improved bandwidth and lower modal dispersion compared with lower-grade multimode fibres, enabling reliable transmission of high-speed signals over short to medium distances. SC/SC connectors offer simple push-pull mating for rack-mounted equipment and patch panels. The fixed 5 m length balances flexibility and reach for common patching tasks while the turquoise jacket simplifies visual management in crowded installations.

Suitable for

• Connecting switches, servers and transceivers in data centers
• Patch panel to equipment links in telecom rooms
• Short- to medium-distance multimode optical connections within campus networks
• High-bandwidth applications using OM3 multimode fibre

Key specifications

• Fibre type: OM3 multimode
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Connector type: SC to SC (duplex)
• Length: 5 m
• Jacket colour: turquoise
• Transmission mode: full duplex

How to use

Inspect connectors and cable for visible damage before installation. Align the SC connectors with the equipment ports and insert using the push-pull mechanism until a positive engagement is felt. For duplex links ensure correct orientation of transmit and receive channels on each end. Route the cable to avoid tight bends and mechanical stress; maintain minimum bend radius recommended for multimode fibre. Secure the cable in cable management systems or on patch panels to prevent movement and connector strain.

Recommendations

Clean connector endfaces with appropriate fibre cleaning tools before making connections. Use proper bend radius, avoid kinks, and label both ends for easy identification. For high-density environments, plan routing to minimize bend and connector stress and to maintain signal integrity over the OM3 link.
