USB hub EXSYS EX-1189HMVS-3

The EXSYS EX-1189HMVS-3 USB Hub is a compact, metal-cased hub that expands a single USB host port into multiple high-speed downstream ports. Designed for desktop and workstation use, it provides seven USB 3.0 Type-A ports for high-speed data transfer and one additional port supporting USB 2.0 devices where applicable. The hub uses a USB 3.2 Gen 1 (3.1 Gen 1) Type-B host interface and is supplied with a 1.5 m USB 3.2 Gen 1 cable and an external 12V/3A power adapter to ensure stable operation with multiple attached devices. With dimensions of 178.6 mm x 59.9 mm x 25.4 mm and a durable black metal housing, the EX-1189HMVS-3 is intended for reliable, continuous use in environments that require multiple peripheral connections.

Advantages

The hub offers seven USB 3.0 ports capable of up to 5000 Mbit/s transfer speeds, allowing for fast file transfers and responsive peripheral performance. Its metal housing improves heat dissipation and mechanical durability compared to plastic enclosures. External power support (12V/3A) enables stable power delivery for several connected devices simultaneously, while the included 1.5 m USB 3.2 Gen 1 cable provides ready-to-use connectivity. The compact footprint and black finish make it suitable for desktop placement without occupying excessive space.

Suitable for

• Connecting multiple external drives for data transfer and backups
• Expanding ports for keyboards, mice, webcams and other peripherals
• Workstation setups that require several USB devices simultaneously
• Small office and home office environments where a durable hub is needed

How to use

Place the hub on a flat surface near your computer and connect the included USB 3.2 Gen 1 cable from the hub’s Type-B host connector to a compatible host port on your computer. Plug the 12V/3A external power adapter into the hub and a mains outlet to provide sufficient power for several devices. Connect downstream devices to the USB Type-A ports; the hub supports hot-plugging so devices can be attached or removed while the system is running. Ensure that high-power devices are connected after the external adapter has been powered for stable operation.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, connect high-bandwidth devices such as external SSDs directly to the USB 3.0 ports and avoid overloading a single port with multiple power-hungry peripherals. Use the supplied power adapter when connecting several devices simultaneously, and keep airflow around the metal housing unobstructed to assist passive heat dissipation.
