Supermicro CBL-SAST-1277S3-100 – kabel

For dense server and storage environments where every millimetre counts, the Supermicro CBL-SAST-1277S3-100 offers a direct SFF-8643 to SFF-8643 link that eliminates the need for adapters or breakout boards. This 1-metre internal Mini-SAS HD cable carries four SAS 3.0 lanes at up to 12 Gbps per lane, delivering a total bandwidth of 48 Gbps across a slim, flexible PVC jacket. It is engineered to fit cleanly between a RAID controller or HBA and a backplane or drive cage, even in 1U and 2U chassis where airflow and cable routing are critical.

Highlights

• Mini-SAS HD (SFF-8643) male connectors on both ends for native internal SAS/SATA connections
• Supports SAS 3.0 speeds up to 12 Gbps per lane, backward compatible with SAS 2.0 and 1.0
• 100 cm length ideal for short, direct runs inside servers and storage arrays
• 100-ohm impedance and full shielding ensure signal integrity in high-density installations
• RoHS-compliant copper conductors with black PVC jacket for durability and easy identification

In daily use

Installation is straightforward: the cable clicks securely into SFF-8643 receptacles on both the controller and the backplane, with a positive latch that prevents accidental disconnection. Because it is a straight-through cable, it works with any SAS or SATA drive configuration supported by the controller—no special firmware or driver is needed. The black jacket blends into most chassis interiors, and the 1-metre length reduces excess cable bulk without limiting placement options. Whether you are building a new server or replacing a worn cable in an existing array, this Supermicro cable provides a reliable, high-speed link that keeps data flowing at full SAS 3.0 rates.
