SSD disk HPE 3,2 TB U.3 NVMe P50967-001

The HPE 3.2 TB U.3 NVMe SSD is a high-capacity internal drive designed for enterprise server environments. With 3200 GB of raw storage and a U.3 NVMe interface, this solid state drive provides low-latency access and high-throughput performance for demanding workloads. The drive is intended for use in server bays and storage arrays that support U.3 connectors and NVMe protocol, helping to improve application responsiveness and data processing efficiency.

Advantages

This SSD delivers high capacity in a single 3.5/2.5-compatible U.3 form-factor module, enabling consolidation of hot data on high-performance flash. The NVMe interface reduces command overhead and latency compared with SATA drives, resulting in faster random I/O and sequential transfers. The drive is engineered for continuous operation with enterprise-class endurance characteristics and consistent performance under sustained workloads, supporting storage efficiency and predictable service levels.

Suitable for

• Database servers requiring low-latency random I/O
• Virtualization hosts and hyper-converged infrastructures
• High-performance computing (HPC) and analytics nodes
• Enterprise application servers and transaction processing
• Caching tiers and metadata storage in scale-out systems

Key specifications

• Capacity: 3200 GB (3.2 TB)
• Interface: U.3 connector with NVMe protocol
• Form factor: enterprise U.3-compatible drive
• Intended use: internal server/storage array installation
• Performance class: high-performance NVMe SSD suitable for mixed workloads

How to use

Install the drive into a server or storage bay that supports U.3 NVMe drives, following the server vendor's hardware installation procedures. Ensure the system firmware and operating system NVMe drivers are up to date to fully utilize NVMe performance and features. After physical installation, initialize, partition, and format the drive according to your storage architecture and redundancy plan, and integrate it into existing volume groups or storage pools as required.

Recommendations

For optimal reliability and performance, use the drive in systems with active cooling and proper airflow, monitor drive health using vendor tools or standard SMART/NVMe monitoring utilities, and place critical data on appropriate RAID or redundancy configurations. Align the drive's role with workload characteristics—assign latency-sensitive tasks to NVMe tiers and use capacity-optimized layers for cold data.
