Spravovaný switch PLANET GS-4210-16T2S

PLANET GS-4210-16T2S is a cost-optimized managed Gigabit Ethernet switch designed for small and medium businesses. It provides 16 10/100/1000BASE-T RJ-45 ports and 2 SFP uplink slots in a 1U rack-mountable chassis, supports Layer 2 and Layer 4 switching functions, and offers a switching capacity of 36 Gbit/s with an 8000-entry MAC address table. The fanless design and energy-saving features deliver quiet and stable operation for office and data-center edge deployments.

Advantages

The GS-4210-16T2S delivers advanced Layer 2 features including 802.1Q VLAN, Q-in-Q, link aggregation, MSTP, LLDP, IGMP/MLD snooping and storm control, together with comprehensive QoS (802.1p/CoS/DSCP) and per-port bandwidth control. It supports IPv4/IPv6 ACLs, 802.1X with RADIUS, DHCP snooping, IP source guard and dynamic ARP inspection for edge security. Management options include web GUI, console, Telnet, SNMP (including SNMPv3) and HTTPS for secure remote administration.

Suitable for

• SMB office networks requiring managed Gigabit switching
• Edge access in enterprise LANs and campus networks
• VoIP and IP video deployments needing QoS and traffic control
• Fiber uplinks to backbone or monitoring centers using SFP modules

How to use

Install the GS-4210-16T2S in a standard 19" rack using the supplied brackets. Connect access devices to the RJ-45 ports and insert SFP transceivers into the mini-GBIC slots for fiber uplinks as needed. Access the switch management via the built-in web GUI, console port, Telnet or SNMP server to configure VLANs, link aggregation, QoS policies and security features. Apply IPv4/IPv6 ACLs and enable DHCP snooping or 802.1X where port-level control is required.

Recommendations

For stable, quiet operation in office environments enable the fanless mode and verify adequate rack ventilation. Use SFP modules that match your fiber type and distance requirements, and deploy SNMPv3 or HTTPS for secure remote management. When deploying VoIP or video, configure 802.1p/DSCP markings and per-port bandwidth limits to prioritise real-time traffic.
