SFP28 AOC kabel BlueOptics SFP28-AOC-7M-EN-BO 7 m samec-samec

The BlueOptics SFP28-AOC-7M-EN-BO is a 7-meter active optical cable with SFP28 connectors on both ends, engineered for 25 Gigabit Ethernet links. The cable uses active optical technology to deliver high-bandwidth, low-latency connections suitable for dense networking environments. With an aqua-coloured sheath for easy identification, this AOC provides a ready-made, factory-terminated duplex link that eliminates the need for separate transceivers and fiber patch cords.

Advantages

The active optical design offers consistent signal integrity over the full 7 m length while keeping power consumption and thermal load low compared with some alternatives. Plug-and-play SFP28 terminations reduce installation time and compatibility issues with SFP28-capable switches and NICs. The single-piece construction lowers the risk of connector mismatch and simplifies cable management in racks and patch panels.

Suitable for

• 25 Gigabit Ethernet server-to-switch interconnects in data centers
• High-performance computing clusters and storage networks
• Top-of-rack and end-of-row connectivity where medium reach is required
• Environments requiring reduced electromagnetic interference and compact cabling

Key specifications

• Length: 7 m
• Connector type: SFP28 to SFP28 (male to male)
• Data rate: designed for 25 Gbps links
• Cable type: active optical cable (AOC)
• Sheath colour: aqua (Aqua colour)
• Application: duplex single-lane high-speed interconnect

How to use

Install by inserting each SFP28 connector into the appropriate SFP28 ports on the networking devices until the latch engages. Ensure devices are powered off or follow hot-plug guidelines provided by the equipment manufacturer. Verify link status via switch or host indicators and configure the interfaces according to network requirements (speed, duplex, MTU and protocol settings). Handle the cable by the connector housings and avoid tight bends below the minimum bend radius to maintain optical performance.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, use the cable within typical data centre temperature and humidity ranges and avoid routing near strong electromagnetic sources. Keep the aqua-coloured sheath visible for quick identification and label both ends if used in complex patching environments. Check vendor support lists for SFP28 compatibility if device firmware requires specific cable or transceiver settings.
