SFP28 AOC kabel BlueOptics SFP28-AOC-5M-PS-BO 5 m samec/samec

The BlueOptics SFP28-AOC-5M-PS-BO is a 5 m active optical cable (AOC) with SFP28 connectors on both ends, designed for 25 Gbps links in data centres and high-performance computing environments. The cable integrates transmitter and receiver modules at each end and uses multimode fiber to deliver low-latency, high-bandwidth optical connections without the need for separate transceivers or patch cords. The product colour is aqua and it weighs approximately 0.15 kg.

Advantages

This SFP28 AOC provides direct SFP28-to-SFP28 connectivity according to MSA standards, supporting 25GBASE-SR4 applications and compatible network protocols such as Ethernet and Fibre Channel over Ethernet. The pre-assembled optical link reduces installation time and eliminates the need to clean or terminate fiber patch cords. Integrated digital diagnostics (DDM/DOM compliant with SFF-8472) enables real-time monitoring of supply voltage, laser bias current, transmit power, receive power and temperature to simplify troubleshooting and maintenance. Components conform to industry manufacturing standards to provide extended operational lifetime and high availability.

Suitable for

• Inter-switch and switch-to-server connections in data centres
• High-performance computing clusters and storage system interconnects
• 25G network links for Ethernet and Fibre Channel over Ethernet

• Weight: approx. 0.15 kg

How to use

Install the BlueOptics SFP28-AOC-5M-PS-BO by inserting the SFP28 connector plugs into the respective SFP28 ports on your networking devices until they click into place. Ensure the host devices officially support SFP28 AOC modules and, if required by the platform, enable or verify firmware/driver compatibility for third-party AOCs. Use the digital diagnostics interface from your switch or host to monitor link parameters and health. For removal, press the connector latch and pull straight out to avoid stress on the cable or ports.

Recommendations

Place the cable so it is not tightly bent; follow the minimum bend radius specified by the equipment vendor, avoid routing near heavy electromagnetic sources even though optical links are immune to EMI, and verify DDM/DOM support on host hardware to access diagnostic data. For critical installations, request a test sample to confirm compatibility with your specific hardware and firmware.
