SFP28 AOC kabel BlueOptics SFP28-AOC-2M-FR-BO 2m samec/samec

The BlueOptics SFP28-AOC-2M-FR-BO is a 2-meter active optical cable with SFP28 connectors on both ends, designed for high-speed 25G data transmission over multi-mode fiber. The pre-assembled AOC includes a transmitter and receiver in each connector and follows MSA SFP28 interface conventions to ensure electrical and optical interoperability with compatible network equipment. The cable delivers low-latency optical links for data center top-of-rack connections, switch-to-switch interconnects and other high-performance networking scenarios.

Advantages

This SFP28 active optical cable supports 25GBASE-SR4 class transmission and provides immunity to electromagnetic interference due to its optical medium. The integrated transceivers and pre-terminated design remove the need for field splicing or patching, reducing installation time and potential signal loss. Built according to MSA guidelines, the cable includes digital diagnostics monitoring (DDM/DOM) capability for remote reading of supply voltage, laser bias current, optical transmit/receive power and temperature. The compact SFP28 form factor allows direct insertion into standard SFP28 ports for simple deployment.

Suitable for

• Data center top-of-rack and end-of-row interconnects
• Server-to-switch and switch-to-switch 25G links
• High-performance computing clusters and storage networks
• Environments requiring low-latency, EMI-immune connections

Key specifications

• Length: 2 meters
• Interface: SFP28 to SFP28
• Data rate: up to 25 Gbps
• Transmission medium: multi-mode fiber (active optical cable)
• Form factor: SFP28 compliant
• Diagnostics: DDM/DOM (MSA SFF-8472 compatible)
• Colour: aqua and silver
• Weight: approx. 0.15 kg

How to use

Insert each SFP28 connector into the corresponding SFP28 port on your networking devices, ensuring the latch clicks to secure the module. Verify that the host equipment supports SFP28 AOC modules and the desired 25G link configuration. Once connected, check the device interface status and, where supported, use the DDM/DOM readout to monitor optical parameters such as transmit/receive power and temperature. For optimal results, avoid bending the cable sharply and route it to prevent mechanical stress on the connectors.

Recommendations

Use this BlueOptics SFP28 AOC in compatible switches, routers and storage systems that accept SFP28 AOC modules and support 25GBASE-SR4 operation. Confirm host compatibility before deployment, maintain gentle cable routing to preserve optical performance, and use DDM/DOM monitoring where available to help with remote diagnostics and maintenance.
