SFP+ AOC kabel Extralink AOC SFP+ 10Gbps 5m samec/samec plný duplex

Extralink AOC SFP+ is a direct attach active optical cable designed for 10Gbps full-duplex links over a 5 m distance. The cable features SFP+ male connectors on both ends and integrates optical transceivers within the cable assembly to provide a compact, low-power alternative to separate transceivers plus fiber patchcords. It is intended for short-range, high-speed interconnects such as switch-to-switch, switch-to-server and server-to-storage connections in data centers, server rooms and network racks.

Advantages

This SFP+ AOC cable delivers consistent 10Gbps throughput with low latency and reduced power consumption compared with discrete transceiver plus fiber pairs. Its integrated optical design offers strong immunity to electromagnetic interference and removes the need to install separate transceivers, simplifying deployment and lowering component count. The pre-terminated male-to-male connectors allow plug-and-play installation and reduce potential cable management complexity in dense rack environments.

Suitable for

• Short-range 10Gbps links between switches in a data centre rack
• Direct connections from servers to top-of-rack switches
• Interconnects between storage arrays and servers within server rooms
• High-density patching where space and power efficiency are important

Key specifications

• Data rate: 10 Gbps full duplex
• Cable type: Active optical cable (AOC)
• Connector type: SFP+ male on both ends
• Length: 5 metres
• Typical use: Short-range, intra-rack and adjacent-rack connections
• Latency: low, suitable for latency-sensitive applications
• Power consumption: lower than equivalent electrical direct-attach copper or separate transceiver solutions
• EMI performance: immune to electromagnetic interference due to optical transmission

How to use

Verify compatibility with the SFP+ ports on your switches, servers or storage devices before installation. Power down equipment if recommended by the device manufacturer, then insert each SFP+ connector into the corresponding SFP+ port until it clicks into place. Route the cable to avoid tight bends and mechanical stress; maintain the minimum bend radius specified by typical AOC products. After insertion, power up devices and confirm link status through device LEDs or management interfaces. For removal, power down if recommended and press the connector latch to extract the module carefully.

Recommendations

Use the cable for short intra-rack or adjacent-rack connections up to 5 m, avoid exposing the assembly to excessive pulling forces or sharp bends, and store spare cables in protective packaging. Confirm vendor compatibility notes for SFP+ modules in managed equipment to ensure link negotiation and diagnostic functions operate as expected.
