Panel pozice disku Icy Dock MB996SK-6SB

The Icy Dock ToughArmor MB996SK-6SB is a 5.25” full-metal drive bay panel designed to house up to six 9.5 mm hard drives or SSDs. Built for environments that require physical data protection, the unit includes individual metal key locks for each bay, a user-adjustable 40 mm cooling fan, LED activity indicators, and anti-vibration features. Its compact 5.25” form factor offers high-capacity storage in limited space and is compatible with a variety of systems where rugged, secure drive mounting is required.

Advantages

The enclosure provides per-bay metal key-locks for controlled physical access, a rugged full-metal construction to endure mobile and industrial use, and an adjustable fan with high/low/off settings to balance cooling and noise. Active Power Technology powers LEDs and the fan only when a drive is present, while ventilated trays, an anti-vibration mechanism and the metal chassis improve heat dissipation and drive stability. Two power adapters are included to support Molex or SATA power connections.

Suitable for

• Servers and workstation PCs that require secure, high-capacity storage
• Mobile or in-vehicle computer systems with vibration-prone environments
• Industrial, military, medical or avionics applications demanding physical data security
• Home servers, HTPCs and gaming rigs needing compact multi-drive storage
• JBOD and RAID configurations where multiple 9.5 mm drives are used

How to use

Install the MB996SK-6SB into an available 5.25” drive bay in your system chassis. Insert 9.5 mm drives into the trays, slide each tray into a bay until the Eagle Hook latch secures it, then lock the tray with the metal key if physical access control is required. Connect power using either SATA or Molex via the supplied adapters and connect drives to the host controller using your system’s SATA cables. Adjust the 40 mm fan to High, Low or Off depending on cooling needs and monitor LED indicators for drive activity. Use standard OS-level tools or your RAID controller to configure JBOD or RAID arrays as needed.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, use 9.5 mm height drives as specified, keep the fan on Low or High when drives are under sustained load to maintain safe temperatures, and lock unused bays to prevent accidental ejection. Ensure system airflow around the 5.25” bay for optimal heat dissipation and verify compatibility with your chassis and RAID setup before installation.
