Optický konektor ShiverPeaks SC‑SC simplex aqua

ShiverPeaks SC‑SC Simplex aqua fiber optic connector is designed for single‑fiber simplex terminations using a standardized SC interface. Intended for multimode fiber assemblies with aqua jacket coloring, this connector provides a push‑pull coupling mechanism and precise ferrule alignment for reliable optical connections in datacom and networking environments. It is suitable for terminating patchcords, installing in patch panels, and creating SC‑terminated links within rack systems where a compact, standardized simplex connector is required.

Advantages

The connector offers a consistent SC form factor that ensures compatibility with standard SC adapters and equipment. Its simplex design reduces bulk in tight patching environments while maintaining low insertion loss and repeatable performance when properly installed. The aqua color coding simplifies identification of multimode OM3/OM4 links and helps maintain organized cable infrastructure. The push‑pull coupling and keyed housing support straightforward mating and secure connections.

Suitable for

• Terminating multimode fiber patchcords with SC simplex connectors
• Connecting optical links in data centers and telecom racks
• Installation in SC patch panels and wall plates
• Laboratory and testing setups requiring standardized SC connections

Key specifications

• Connector type: SC simplex
• Fiber compatibility: multimode (aqua color code for OM3/OM4)
• Coupling mechanism: push‑pull (snap‑in) SC housing
• Ferrule material: ceramic ferrule for precise alignment
• Polish type: factory typical PC or UPC polish suitable for multimode links
• Operating environment: indoor datacom and telecom installations

How to use

Prepare the fiber according to standard termination procedures for multimode cable, ensuring correct stripping, cleaning, and cleaving before insertion. Insert the prepared fiber into the connector body until the ferrule seats properly, then secure the fiber according to the connector's termination method (crimp, epoxy, or pre‑polished assembly steps). After termination, verify the connection by mating with an SC adapter and measuring insertion loss and return loss where required. Use appropriate strain relief and jacket retention to maintain long‑term stability.

Recommendations

Handle the ferrule endface with care and keep dust caps in place until final installation. Use lint‑free wipes and approved fiber cleaning tools to avoid contamination. For optimal performance in multimode systems, follow industry best practices for polarity, connector mating cycles, and periodic inspection of endfaces.
