Low Noise Block Downconverter Schwaiger SPS6918 R

The Schwaiger SPS6918 R is a low noise block downconverter (LNB) designed for Ku-band satellite reception over the 10.7–12.75 GHz frequency range. Housed in a terracotta-colored casing with a 4 cm feedhorn, this LNB provides stable downconversion and is built for consistent performance in home and small-aperture satellite systems. With a rated current draw of 250 mA, it is compatible with standard satellite receivers and multiswitch setups that supply power over the coaxial feed.

Advantages

The device combines a compact feedhorn design with a low-noise architecture to deliver reliable signal clarity for a variety of satellite services. Its moderate power consumption supports energy-efficient operation, while the weather-resistant housing and standardized mounting make installation straightforward. The terracotta finish offers a discreet appearance suitable for many outdoor installations.

Suitable for

• Residential satellite TV reception on Ku-band
• Small to medium satellite dishes and offset reflectors
• Single-receiver and multiswitch systems requiring a standard LNB
• Outdoor installations that need a compact, weather-resistant LNB

Key specifications

• Operational frequency range: 10.7–12.75 GHz (Ku-band)
• Feedhorn diameter: 4 cm
• Typical current consumption: 250 mA
• Housing color: terracotta
• Polarization types supported: standard linear polarization (vertical/horizontal) via receiver switching
• Connector: F-type coaxial output (standard for satellite LNBs)

How to use

Mount the LNB in the feedarm or holder of a compatible satellite dish, ensuring the feedhorn aligns with the dish focal point. Connect the coaxial cable to the F-type output and run it to the satellite receiver or multiswitch; the receiver will supply the required power and polarization switching through the coax. Fine-tune the dish alignment while monitoring signal strength and quality on the receiver. Secure all external connections and weather-seal the joint between cable and connector to reduce moisture ingress.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, use the LNB with a properly sized dish and a stable mount; verify receiver settings for Ku-band frequency and polarization. In regions with heavy precipitation or salt spray, periodically inspect the housing and connectors and replace damaged seals. If using a multiswitch, confirm the system provides sufficient DC power to support the LNB and any additional active components.
