Interní M.2 adaptér Icy Dock MB840M2P-B

The Icy Dock MB840M2P-B is an internal M.2 adapter designed to add M.2 storage to systems via a PCIe host interface. The adapter supports PCIe 3.0 signaling with a maximum theoretical data transfer rate of 32 Gbit/s and uses a passive cooling design in a black and silver enclosure. With compact dimensions (160 mm x 22 mm x 122 mm) and a lightweight construction (approximately 260 g), this unit is intended to expand storage capacity and integrate M.2 drives into standard internal PCIe slots without active cooling.

Advantages

The adapter provides direct M.2 connectivity over PCIe, enabling higher bandwidth compared with many legacy interfaces. Its passive cooling approach reduces moving parts and potential noise while maintaining a low-profile design suitable for constrained internal spaces. The black and silver finish offers a neutral appearance for system builds, and the compact dimensions and internal mounting make the unit compatible with many desktop and server configurations. The product is compatible with internal installation and is intended for users who require a reliable adapter to connect M.2 drives through a PCIe interface.

Suitable for

• Adding one or more M.2 drives to a desktop or server via PCIe
• Upgrading system storage to NVMe speeds where PCIe 3.0 is available
• Compact or low-noise builds that prefer passive cooling solutions
• Systems requiring an internal M.2 to PCIe adapter with a neutral color scheme

How to use

Install the Icy Dock MB840M2P-B into an available PCIe slot on the motherboard following standard static-safe procedures. Secure the adapter to the chassis and mount the M.2 drive into the M.2 slot on the adapter, fastening it according to the drive length supported by the adapter and using the supplied or standard M.2 standoffs and screws. After physical installation, power on the system and verify that the motherboard BIOS/UEFI recognizes the attached M.2 device. Install or update device drivers and configure storage settings in the operating system as required.

Recommendations

Use the adapter in systems that provide adequate ventilation to support passive cooling; avoid obstructing airflow around the adapter. Verify motherboard PCIe lane allocation and BIOS compatibility before installation, and ensure the M.2 drive form factor and keying match the adapter's supported interfaces. Handle M.2 modules with care to prevent electrostatic discharge and follow manufacturer instructions for mounting and torque on screws.
