InfiniBand/optický kabel ROLINE 21.15.8780 0,5 m

The ROLINE 21.15.8780 0.5 m InfiniBand/fibre optic cable is a short patch cable designed for reliable high-speed connections in server rooms, data centres and professional networking environments. It features 2x LC connectors on both ends and a 9 µm core diameter to support single-mode transmission characteristics with low attenuation. The cable’s compact length and precise connector alignment make it suitable for dense rack installations and short-distance links between switches, transceivers and host adapters.

Advantages

This ROLINE fibre optic cable offers stable signal transmission with reduced insertion loss thanks to its 9 µm core and LC connector pair. Its 0.5 m length minimises excess slack in patch panels and keeps cable management tidy in rack-mounted setups. The use of industry-standard LC connectors ensures compatibility with common transceivers and InfiniBand equipment, while the robust build supports repeated insertions and consistent optical performance.

Suitable for

• Short-distance connections in data centres and server racks
• Interconnections between InfiniBand switches and host channel adapters
• Links between SFP/SFP+ or QSFP transceivers with LC interfaces
• High-density patch panels and cable management trays

Key specifications

• Cable length: 0.5 m
• Connector type: 2x LC to 2x LC
• Core diameter: 9 µm (single-mode characteristics)
• Suitable transmission type: fibre optic / InfiniBand compatible
• Application: short patch links, rack-mounted networking

How to use

Inspect both LC connectors and the transceiver ports for dust or debris before installation. Gently align each LC connector with the corresponding port and push until it clicks into place; avoid excessive force. Route the 0.5 m cable to prevent sharp bends and secure it with cable management clips or ties to reduce strain on connectors. When removing the cable, depress the LC latch and pull straight out to avoid damaging the ferrule.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, use this cable for short links where single-mode characteristics and low insertion loss are required. Keep connector endfaces clean using appropriate fibre cleaning tools and avoid bending the cable below its minimum bend radius. Store unused cables in protective sleeves to prevent contamination.
