AOC kabel BlueOptics AOC-QSFP28-CABLE-3M-BO 3m QSFP28 samec/samec

The BlueOptics AOC-QSFP28-CABLE-3M-BO is a 3‑metre active optical cable with QSFP28 male connectors on both ends, engineered for high‑speed data transmission in demanding network environments. The cable supports short‑reach optical links commonly required in data centres and high‑performance computing racks, providing a compact, low‑latency connection between QSFP28 ports without the need for separate transceivers.

Advantages

This active optical cable delivers high bandwidth and signal integrity over a 3 m distance while reducing electrical interference and heat compared with direct‑attach copper solutions. Its QSFP28 interface offers compatibility with equipment that accepts QSFP28 modules and supports multi‑lane data transport. The cable’s integrated optics simplify installation and help maintain consistent performance in dense rack deployments.

Suitable for

• Interconnects between switches and routers within data centre racks
• Connections between high‑performance servers and network adapters
• Short‑reach links in top‑of‑rack and end‑of‑row deployments
• Environments requiring low latency and high throughput

Key specifications

• Connector type: QSFP28 male to QSFP28 male
• Cable type: Active optical cable (AOC)
• Length: 3 metres
• Application: Short‑reach, multi‑lane 100 Gb/s class links (QSFP28)
• Signal medium: Optical fibres with integrated transceivers

How to use

Install the cable by aligning each QSFP28 connector with the corresponding port on network equipment and inserting until the latch engages. Ensure both devices are powered down or that hot‑plugging is supported by your equipment before insertion or removal. Verify link status through the device management interface and monitor for correct lane negotiation and expected throughput after connection.

Recommendations

Handle the cable by the connector housings and avoid tight bends or compressing the fibre region; maintain the manufacturer’s minimum bend radius. Use in temperature‑controlled rack environments and verify compatibility with host hardware QSFP28 port specifications before deployment.
